MEDICAL WORK

* A dental team worked 8 full days in our dispensary: 6 people including 3 from the USA, 2 Lebanese dentists and a translator were able to offer free dental care for dozens of patients of the dispensary and in priority to the children of our school. The American team donated all the equipment, permitting us to continue this action after their departure with the help of Lebanese dentists. Access to dental care is the most frequent request in an opinion poll recently taken among the people helped by Tahaddi.

* A missionary doctor in Jordan and his nurse wife adn their three children came for several days to explore the possibility to join our medical team. It would be an incredible help to have a second missionary doctor, already speaking Arabic and understanding the local culture. Thanks for praying that God would direct them in their decision.

* Some of you will remember Maha, as well as her sister Kamar, operated on in 2002 thanks to donations from Tahaddi, as they were losing their eyesight (Marfan's syndrome). Maha had then expressed her desire to attend our school and was doing well, until her sudden disappearnace about six months later.
Just a few days ago, Maha reappeared suddenly at the dispensary and told her incredible story : about a year ago, after having been beaten by her big brother, she ran away from home and walked without stopping for three days and three nights without knowing where she was going. She covered 150 kilometers (100 miles) and found herself in Bcharré, near a famous cedars of Lebanon forest, at an altitude of 1800 meters (6000 feet). There, she went to the local police station and told them she was lost and without family, and was placed in a Christian foyer called "Mission de Vie" (mission of life) in the northern suburbs of Beirut. She found there a warm welcome, lodging and an au pair job, as well as access to literacy training. After several months, she recontacted her family which, once the anger had passed, allowed her to continue to live in this mission. It is a transformed Maha that we drove back to her foyer, not only transformed on the outside, but in her heart as well.

* Hassan is doing VERY well !!!
